About University
Chattagram International Dental College (CIDC) started its journey in 2003. It`s is the only private dental college in Chittagong division.
Its large and beautiful campus has been built in 1.5 acre of it`s own land. It has now more than 300 students studying in various terms / years under Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). It has been providing world Class BDS degree for students from all over the world. Eight of our batches already passed out successfully and they proved their worth as a doctor after completing degree. Most of them are now serving various national and international organizations with their excellent professional knowledge and education in dentistry. It has a state of the art Dental Hospital named Chattagram International Dental Hospital (CIDCH) adjacent to it. Initially it started with 4 dental chairs. Over the period of time a number of treatment facilities added, modern equipment`s included and dental chairs have been increased to 50. Since establishment it has been contributing to the society with its specialized treatment facilities as well as providing training and research facilities for it`s students and doctors. Our Faculty members are highly qualified, efficient and dedicated .Our mission is to provide quality dental education ,research and facility to collaborate with international institution .We believe our academic environment, discipline, experienced teachers care, continuous monitoring of students performance, well equipped lab facilities, rich library facilities and extracurricular activities etc will make us different from others. Students are selected by following strict procedure on merit basis directed by Bangladesh government .In this Dental college ,from beginning of academic session ,provide a complete academic guide book regarding yearly class & exam schedule ,reference book list & other student affairs activities to admitted student . Our honorable & knowledgeable teachers are always ready to counsel to student & give guidance to solve their problem with friendly manner .Our teachers delivers their lecture by using modern technique which creates different atmosphere to student .Extra care provided to weak students by our dedicated & enthusiastic teachers which improve their performance .We have a well equipped library with recent edition medical book &journal .We are trying to convey recent medical information through library .We have also internationally published research paper which help to earn knowledge to our faculty member, medical specialist and students .Our medical education unit is help to our faculty members to gather knowledge regarding teaching & learning . In addition of academic facility, 50 unit dental hospital available with all modern facilities which provide classy services at reasonable cost . Main Functions
To prescribe up-to-date curriculum for teaching in colleges or institutes affiliated to the University in consonance with the guidelines of BMDC (Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council) and BNMC (Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council) and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Post graduate studies in medicine, graduate studies in nursing and provision of education and research in any field of medical science and technology.
Regular inspection of affiliated colleges or institutes to adapt the health education system according to the curriculum.
To conduct the registration and examination process of the students of the affiliated college or institute properly.
To organize regular workshops to improve the quality of health education.
To increase quality colleges or institutes of health education as recommended by World Health Organization (WHO) with a view to expanding and developing quality health education facilities.
To play a direct role in making doctors and health workers with human qualities by taking into account the knowledge, skill/competence and ethics of medical education.
Increase the skills of teachers of all colleges/institutes affiliated to the university by conducting regular workshops and seminars through Faculty Development Programme.
Conducting academic and health service activities through liaison and coordination with University Grants Commission, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and other universities.
To play a significant role in critical thinking and creative (Creative / Innovative) medical education system for the welfare of the country collectively through linkage with political, social, cultural and other professions.
To provide medical undergraduate and postgraduate education to all irrespective of caste, religion, caste, tribe and sex.
In addition to medical education, the social, political and cultural heritage of Bangladesh and the commitment to the medical services of the common people of this country acquired during the great liberation war, should be managed by the medical education system.
To maintain international standards of medical education system through Faculty/Student Exchange Program by making MOU with better medical universities of the country and abroad as per the rules of the university.
