The campus of the Dhaka Community Medical College is located in the center of Dhaka city at 190/1, Boro Moghbazar, Wireless Rail gate, Dhaka-1217, Bangladesh.
At present, Pre clinical, Para clinical & clinical academic activities are running in 12 storied (under construction) building. Clinical Services, teaching and training activities are held in adjoining 500-bedded hospital complex. The medical College Hospital is 14-storied building (Under Construction). At Present Hospital Building is 12 storied. The college has access to urban and rural health care centers at different places of Bangladesh. Dhaka Community Medical College is a humble initiative to provide scope for eligible candidates to contribute in the health sector of Bangladesh. DCH trust established Dhaka Community Medical College in 2008. Which offers 5 Years MBBS Course approved by Ministry of health & family welfare Govt. of Bangladesh. Affiliated by University of Dhaka. Recognized by BMDC & recognized by General Medical council (UK). Doctors and supporting health professional are the back bone of the health care delivery system. Yet the health care professionals population ratio in our country is still one of the lowest in the world. At present doctor- patient ratio 5:26 per 10,000 population. Till now the available seats in the medical college, public private sector together is far too short to meet the requirement of the countries ever growing need in this sector. In our country a large number of students are willing to take part in the health care system, which is evidenced by the large number of applicants for admission in medical colleges. Also migration of thousands of students for studying abroad, mainly in the neighboring countries resulting in constant draining of our nation economy for supporting their studies and as a consequence dependence on other countries for education and health care delivery grows immensely. In this context, Dhaka Community Medical College is a humble initiative to provide scope for eligible candidates to contribute in the health sector of Bangladesh DCH trust established Dhaka Community Medical College in 2008. Which offers 5 Years MBBS course approved by Ministry of health & family welfare Govt. of Bangladesh. Affiliated by University of Dhaka. Recognized by BMDC & recognized by General Medical council (UK). In addition dental unit for the course of BDS. Was started in the year 2013-2014 is going on.
Background of Dhaka Community Medical College (DCMC):
Dhaka Community Medical College (DCMC) Established in 2008. DCMC Offered 5 years MBBS course & BDS course. The course is approved by the Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Govt. of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. This college is affiliated with the University of Dhaka & recognized by the Bangladesh Medical & Dental council.
Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCH Trust) is a Trust-owned private, non-profit making and self financed organization providing health care for low-income underprivileged people. It was established in 1988. Since its inception, Dhaka Community Hospital has been implementing with an integrated and sustainable health care delivery system at an affordable cost in both the urban and rural areas of Bangladesh. Besides basic health care services, this organization is also working for disaster management, arsenic mitigation, safe water supply and community based development program. Special focus and emphasis is given on gender equity. It has successfully introduced a health insurance scheme in its project areas. The idea is to bring modern health care facilities to the less affluent section of the population at a cost which they can afford. DCH Trust has a fully equipped hospital with 500 beds, as well as established medical institutes like Medical College, Institute of Community Health, Nursing Institute and various Paramedic and Medical technology courses.
DCH has a large experience to work disaster risk reduction and management both in nationally and internationally. Nationally DCH provide health service and implement rehabilitation programme during and post disaster like building collapse, cyclone, tornado and flood and internationally it provided health service and training during earthquake in Pakistan in 2005 and in Nepal in 2015. DCH successfully responded to the SIDR 2007 with affected people on Health, Shelter and Safe Water and Sanitation aspect. DCH Trust has established a functional and professional collaboration with several reputed national and international organizations and academic institutions and been able to mobilize human and material resources for a challenging program. Some of the collaborating institutions are as Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) Harvard University, Oregon State University- USA, Boston Children Hospital-USA, Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD), Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network (ADRRN), Mercy Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Jadavpur University, India, South Australia University-Australia, CRC CARE-Australia, UNDP-Bangladesh, UNICEF-Bangladesh, UNFPA- Bangladesh, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B).

1. Professor Quazi Quamruzzaman, the Chairman of the Trust, started this project as a 20 bed hospital. He is a freedom fighter. He is a renowned pediatric Surgeon in Bangladesh & abroad. He is a pioneer in pediatric Surgery in Bangladesh & was the president of Society of Pediatrics Surgery.
2. Prof. Mahmuder Rahman is co-ordinator of the Trust & Chairman of the Governing Body of Dhaka Community Medical College. He is also Chairman board of management of Ibrahim Cardiac Centre. Prof Rahman was the main architect of Dhaka National Hospital and National Medical College. He was also the Chairman of Board of Management Dhaka Shishu Hospital.
3. Dr. Sabera Rahman was the Director of Mohammadpur Fertility Services, Training Center for 22 years and established the center as a regional model for Family Planning Services, training and for Reproductive Health.
4. Dr. Rahima Ali was the senior consultant of Azimpur Maternity Hospital and played a significant role of developing Maternity Services of that Institute.
5. Quazi Habibur Rahman retired Senior General Manager of BCIC is a Trustee of Dhaka Community Hospital. He has years of experience in administrative and Human Resource Management.
6. Mr. Saidur Rahman was the Country Representative of OXFAM Bangladesh. He is also regarded as an expert in disaster management and played a significant role in planning and developing models for disaster management of the region.
The Trust from its early days engaged itself in teaching and training of various health manpower and started an Institute of Community Health to produce various levels of health manpower. Dhaka Community Medical College & Hospital gradually grew into a 500 bedded modern tertiary care center under the able guidance of the Trust and hard work of its members. Dhaka Community Hospital will always remember the stewardship of Mr. Jalal Uddin Khandoker a national sports personality and social worker, who contributed and worked with great compassion during the formative stage of Dhaka Community Hospital.

Eligibility:
Admission will be on the basis of merit following the terms & conditions as directed by the Govt. of the people`s republic of Bangladesh. Those who have passed SSC. HSC, `O’ level, `O’ level or equivalent examination in the specified years having equivalent mark as also eligible to apply with an equivalence Certificate from DGHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka.
Application Procedure:
Application form prospectus & other information are available at the of office of DCMC (address given below) Complete application form & relevant documents must be submitted to the to the office (add: given below) by the candidate or his/ her representative within the announced date & time.
1. Attested photocopies of SSC and HSC or equivalent examination marks sheets
2. Attested photocopies of SSC and HSC or equivalent examination certificate / Testimonial
3. Four copies of recent passport size attested photographs
4. Nationality certificate from Chairman of the Union Parishad / Ward Commissioner of Metropolitan City or National ID card
5. In case of the reserved seats for children of Freedom Fighters, a Freedom Fighters certificate from the Secretary and Honorable Minister/ State Minister of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs or an attested photocopy of Freedom Fighters Certificate counter signed by the Honorable Prime Minister during the period of 1997-2001 in favour of the parents participating in the Liberation War )
Admission into Course:
List of selected candidates will be duly notified by the Director General of Health Services (DGHS). The selected candidates will have to get admission within the due date, otherwise their selection will be cancelled and the vacant seats will be filled up from the candidates of waiting list on merit basis. During admission, candidate must pay the fees and produce all original documents (SSC & HSC certificate and marks sheets or equivalent certificates from the boards).
Medical Examination:
The selected candidates will be examined by a Medical Board for their physical fitness. The Medical Board will be formed by the Principal of Dhaka Community Medical College.
Conduct and Discipline:
All students should abide by the rules and regulations of the college. Noncompetence to these rules and regulations will make the students liable for disciplinary action, which may ranges from warning to expulsion from the college. Students of Dhaka Community Medical College are forbidden to organize union, association or society other than those approved by the authority, in order to enrich their physical, intellectual, social and ethical development.
Undertaking of Bond:
During admission into the college, the candidates and their parents or guardians will have to sign a bond on non-judicial stamp accepting the terms and conditions of the college and the students conduct and discipline. Admission will be incomplete without submission of the bond.
Expenses of Study:
Tuition fees and all other fees with VAT payable at the time of admission will be notified in the college notice board. All payments are to be made in full at the time of admission. All payments made at the time of admission are nonrefundable, even after cancellation of admission. Any student seeking to leave the college in any time after admission will have to pay an additional amount of Tk. 2,00,000/- (Two lac) only as compensation to the College.
The foreign students will have to pay Admission fees & others fees in U.S dollar as per decision of College Authority.
