Eastern Medical College have 115 seats per year (Current Total Students 628) and offers 5 years' MBBS Course as approved by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC) leading to MBBS degree of the University of Chittagong and Chittagong Medical University. An one-year Internship Training after completing MBBS course is compulsory for all graduates to get full Registration from BM&DC to practice as Physician.

Enlistment in World Directory of Medical Schools developed through partnership between the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER®) which will enable our medical graduates to appear at Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Certification program and other entrance examinations abroad.
Membership of South East Asia Regional Association for Medical Education (SEARAME).
Affiliation by Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) for postgraduate training of doctors in FCPS course in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics and Paediatrics.
Scope for NMC, India & Other Medical Councils:
After obtaining MBBS Degree from Bangladesh, students from India are required to appear and qualify in Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted by National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences to get registration from National Medical Commission (NMC), India. MBBS degree obtained from EMC is recognized by NMC, India & Medical Councils of other SAARC countries.

ELIGIBILITY OF CANDIDATES
Bangladeshi students should have minimum GPA 9.00 together in SSC/O level/Equivalent & HSC/A level/Equivalent (Separately minimum GPA 4.00 in each). Local students should have passed SSC/O level/Equivalent Exam regularly in Science Discipline and HSC/A level/Equivalent exam regularly in Science Discipline with subjects Physics, Chemistry & Biology (minimum GPA 4.0 in Biology). HSC/Equivalent exam passed students have to pass SSC/Equivalent exam within 02 session prior to HSC/Equivalent exam. Students with "O" and "A" level pass must have Equivalence Certificate issued from the Office of the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), MOH&FW, Bangladesh.
ADMISSION TEST & SELECTION PROCESS
Admission test for Local students will be held according to the instructions of DGME published in the Admission Circular. Selection of local students by National Merit List will also be done by DGME. To Pass the MCQ Admission Test local students must score minimum 40 marks. Migration process and student selection from waiting list will also be managed by DGME.
