Mymensingh Medical College is a postgraduate government medical college conducting MBBS, BDS and postgraduate courses in 27 disciplines under Dhaka University and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
Every year 197 students are admitted in MBBS and 52 in BDS courses of which 10% are foreign students and total of 138 students are admitted in different postgraduate courses. It was started in 1924 in Baghmara as “Lytton Medical School”, according to the name of the then Governor of Bengal Mr. Lytton. The medical school had conducted Licentiate of Medical Faculty (LMF) till 1962. Mymensingh Medical College was named in 1962, which started conducting MBBS course with 32 students as the 1st batch (M 01). Mymensingh Medical Journal is the official journal of Mymensingh Medical College which is an Index Medicus / MEDLINE enlisted journal. The campus shifted to Charpara in 1972 on a total of 84 acres of land. A four storied College building was built with 18,000 sq.m. of floor area. The hospital is spread over an area of 58 acres of land (additional 5.7 acres for S. K. hospital). The total capacity of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital is 1000 beds. Preclinical & Para-clinical disciplines are in College building and clinical disciplines are in Hospital building. In addition to MBBS and BDS courses, Postgraduate courses are running in 27 disciplines under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and Dhaka University. Among the post graduate courses, MD residency in five disciplines, MS residency in four disciplines, MPhil in five disciplines and Diploma in ten disciplines. The admissions of undergraduate (MBBS & BDS) courses are conducted by DGHS and postgraduate courses are conducted by BSMMU. Our colleges are becoming technology dependent for conducting educational activities. Accordingly, almost all the work of the college has been automated through software. Academic records, transcripts, testimonials are being processed through the software. Student Attendance is being taken through biometric system. Hostel management, library facilities etc. are being fully automated. All kinds of official activities of teachers, officers and staffs are being done through software. Through these automations, our college is conducting education programs very easily.

Who have selected for admission to Mymensingh Medical College in the 1st year MBBS course in the academic year 2023-2024 are hereby informed that they must submit the relevant necessary documents.

Candidates will be considered eligible for admission after verification of relevant necessary documents and health examination by the Nominating Committee of the Institution. Eligible students will complete the admission process by depositing Taka 18500/- (Eighteen Thousand Five Hundred) towards the admission fee.
49 thousand 923 student have passed this year's medical examination. Out of total 5 thousand 380 government seats, the number of students is 2 thousand 312 (43%). The number of female students is 3 thousand 68 (57%).
The highest score in the entrance exam is 92.5. Among the 5 thousand 72 seats of merit quota, the number of male students is 2 thousand 194 (43.26%) and the number of female students is 2 thousand 878 (56.74%). 269 students were selected as 5% of the total number of seats in freedom fighter quota and 39 students were selected in quota reserved for minorities.
1 lakh 4 thousand 374 people applied for the MBBS admission test. From there 1 lakh 2 thousand 369 students participated in the examination. The absenteeism rate was 1.92. The pass mark in the exam is 40. Accordingly, a total of 49 thousand 923 people have passed this year. Among them 20 thousand 457 male students and 29 thousand 466 female students.
