Northern International Medical College (NIMC) is affiliated to University of Dhaka and offers Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program. NIMC has its own academic infrastructure that is utilized for the teaching-learning activities of medical students as well as providing curative, preventive, primitive and rehabilitative health care services to the people. The standard of MBBS program and quality of health care are ensured by research studies and evaluation.

Northern International Medical College was established in 2005 by a group of dedicated people to provide quality medical education, research and services to people of Bangladesh at reasonable cost. Since its inception Northern International Medical College Hospital has been playing an important role in developing human resources for health care in Bangladesh. It has been sets up all the policies to ensure support and enhancement of the quality of the health services provided to the patients, through the identification and determination of the vision, message, values, objectives, guiding philosophy and the mechanism of work, which are summarized as follows: The Board of Directors, professional staff, volunteers, and all employees of Northern International Medical College pledge a commitment to excellence in all we do. We will provide our patients compassionate care and attentive personal service. The college has state of the art, tertiary care, multispecialty teaching hospital with all the modern diagnostic and therapeutic facilities. The college has specious, well-equipped laboratories, lecture halls with modern audio visual aids, Multimedia projectors etc. It provides excellent library facilities with reference books, national and international journals, CDs, DVDs etc to help the students with a balanced learning environment. he regular intake of international students from various SAARC countries and African nations stands testament to the high standards of teaching and superior learning environment provided by our institution. Our endeavor is to enable our students to become competent professionals and lifelong learners with the assistance of our infrastructural facilities, teaching faculty and student support systems. Satmasjid Road, has become an exclusive hub of restaurants and shopping malls. Only a mere ten minutes’ walk from Northern International Medical College is Rifles Square, which has the famous Shimanto Square, an extremely popular food court for students. This popular hangout and dining spot attracts thousands of students every day from the nearby universities and colleges. Dhanmondi also has several well-known international fast food chains such as Nandos, KFC and Pizza Hut. Dhanmondi also has numerous cultural attractions like Drik gallery and Café, Robindro Shoroni, Nazrul Institute and many other arts galleries. There are also numerous international cultural centers around Dhanmondi like Alliance Francis, British Council, Russian Cultural Center, EMK Center (US Embassy affiliated). Dhanmondi Lake is one of the biggest public lake and park of the city. It is frequently visited by students in order relax and hang out after classes. Dhanmondi also has a number of sports venues and complexes including Sheikh Kamal Sports Complex (less than a mile away from Northern International Medical College), Sultana Kamal Mohila Complex and Kalabagan Field. These are also frequently visited by students. Many of the international students of Northern International Medical College choose to live in Dhanmondi because of the proximity to the University and the fact that Dhanmondi is one of the best neighborhoods of Dhaka.  The city of Dhaka is a large metropolis which is home to more than 15 million people, a significant number of whom are students.
