R. P. Shaha University (RPSU) is a unit of Kumudini Welfare Trust of Bengal (BD) Ltd. The Trust is the realization of a dream, the seedling of which was born as a cry of outrage in the heart of a helpless 7-year old boy, who watched his mother die from post-natal tetanus resulting from negligence and a lack of proper medical care. Later, after many years of struggle this boy grew to be one of the leading businessmen of Bengal. But despite having the option of living a life of luxury, Ranada Prasad Shaha did not forget the promise he made. He devoted the rest of his life working towards the upliftment of the poor and the needy and the empowerment of women. In 1947, Mr. Shaha established Kumudini Welfare Trust of Bengal (BD) Ltd, which till today continues its work in the areas of healthcare and education in an effort to create an inclusive society, free from discrimination

R. P. Shaha University aims to:

Provide world class education & develop skilled and qualified people who will contribute towards a more prosperous and equal society, thereby laying the foundation for a great nation.

Equip students with both hard (Finance, Marketing, Accounting, etc.) and soft (Communication, Presentation, Public Speaking, etc.) skills to prepare students for the modern-day workplace.

Teach students “How to Think” rather than “What to Think” i.e. to develop Analytical and Problem-Solving skills.

Teach the ethical values that will enable our students develop into well-rounded, confident human beings (Honesty, Respect, Caring)

Place special emphasis on Women’s Education and Empowerment targeted at building young women of courage, confidence and character who will make the world a better place.

Admission Essentials

1. For Business Administration

(i) Minimum GPA 3.0 in SSC and HSC separately.

(ii) For A level students, who have passed 5 subjects in " O " level and 2 subjects in " A " level may also apply for admission. Out of 7 subjects, the students must have B grade/GPA 4.00 in 4 subjects and C grade/GPA 3.50 in rest 3 subjects are required.

2. For Engineering

(i) Minimum GPA 3.0 in SSC and HSC separately.

(iii) One must have Mathematics in HSC/A-Level.

3. For Arts and Social Science

(i) Minimum GPA 3.0 in SSC and HSC separately.

4. For Life Scince & Health

(i) Candidate must pass SSC/ "O" level or recognized equivalents and HSC/"A" level or recognized equivalent in Science Group and obtain a minimum GPA 3.5 (in a scale of 5) without any additional subject.

(ii) Candidate must have a minimum aggregate GPA 8.00 in SSC/ "O" level or equivalent and HSC/ "A" level or equivalent examinations (in a total scale of 10).

(iii) Candidate must pass HSC/ "A" level or recognized equivalent examination with a minimum GPA 4.0 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology separately and a minimum GPA 3.5 in Mathematics (in a scale of 5).

(iv) The student must pass HSC/ “A” level or recognized equivalents with the following Science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

(v) However, candidates having no Mathematics at the HSC/ “A” level or recognized equivalents may be admitted, but they need to take an extra 3 (three) credits course on Mathematics relevant to B. Pharm curriculum.

(vi) Candidate must pass HSC/ "A" level or recognized equivalent examination in current year or one previous year. Foreign students must have passed 12 education years and got same grades in equivalent examinations from foreign recognized institutions.
