Prime Medical College one of the best institution in the private health service sector. It was established in the year 2008 by a group of dedicated people. This Medical College is located to the northern part of Bangladesh at Rangpur District and about 300 KM from the capital city Dhaka.
Imparting medical education leading to a recognized medical degree is the first and foremost aim to establish the Prime Medical College. The Prime Medical College started functioning from 2008-2009 session with 50 students. The college got affiliated with Rajshahi University to the completion on 1st November 2010. Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) recognized the college on 6th June 2010. The 1st Professional MBBS Examination under Rajshahi University was held in July 2010 after completing two years of prescribed course of studies. Currently, the 15th Batch of the students is studying in the college. The Ministry of Health and Rajshahi University were pleased with the academic performance of the institute and allowed to increase the seat capacity from 50 to 135. Now the college has a new 7 storied academic building with 28,000 sq.feet floor space in each floor with adequate parking facilities. All the departments are set up on its own premises including the college building with tutorial class rooms, laboratories, museum, office rooms, library, conference room & lecture galleries. The attached hospital (PMCH) is a tertiary care referral medical facility and provides excellent training to students, junior doctors and paramedics. The Hospital has the capacity of 750 beds. It is well equipped and provides quality health care to the public at a reasonable cost. The entire hospital staff are dedicated to excellence and service. It is 80 KM from CHANGRABANDHA border in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India and about 170 KM from KAKARVITA border of Nepal via India. The college environment is healthful, soundless & free from pollution. Prime Medical College has many commitment for continuous endeavors to develop human resources and to maintain the highest standard of service to the humanity and community levels. It tries to maintain ethical and professional standards and contribute significantly to medical science through collective efforts in a goal cherished by all. It provide quality medical care and health services to people at reasonable cost in this area. This institution also tries to provide skilled manpower in the medical science and conduct research work on the diseases prevalent in the country. Guardians’ advice on college affairs is always encouraged. There is a Guardians Advisory Committee, which holds yearly meetings.Two representatives of guardians are included in the Governing Body. Guardians are communicated regularly about their children’s academic performance and class attendance. They are often invited to put forward suggestions on how to improve the performance of the students. The Members of the Committee are selected annually from the guardians of the students.
SPECIAL POLICIES
At the time of admission to the college, students and parents/ guardians will have to sign a bond that their children will abide by the rules and regulations of the college. Every student shall provide for himself/herself all the prescribed text books, dissecting instruments, and medical equipment. If there will be any difficultics Students will state their problems/ grievances/ inconvenience to their designated guide teacher/ supervisor teacher/ phase counselor subject coordinator/ phase coordinator & academic coordinator who will solve the problems of the students or will refer them to the principal.
RE-ADMISSION POLICY
A Student may be expelled/suspended from The college register under the following circumstances. He/She may be re-admitted after solving/explaining the accusations made by the college authority or as per the decision of the academic council by paying a fee of taka 20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Taka Only)
a. Remaining absent from classes for more than four weeks without any notification
b. Non-payment of college dues like tuition fee, session fee, development fee, etc (within three months of the due date of payment)
c. Disciplinary ground, on the advice of the academic council

At present, 135 Students get admission in each academic session. The Government of Bangladesh has permitted for admission of 45% of foreign students from 2013-2014 academic session. At present there are 686 students in last five batches among them 251 students are foreigners. To get selection in MBBS course foreign students must pass the SSC/SLC/O – Level/GCSE or equivalent examination consisting minimum of 5 subjects acquiring a minimum average GPA 3.00 . Also pass in HSC/A-level/12-grade or equivalent examination with Biology, Chemistry &Physics and average securing mark minimum GPA 3.00 but Minimum aggregate GPA inSSC/SLC/O-level/GCSE and HSC/A-level/12-grade or equivalent examination should be 7.00 (seven) and Must have to pass Biology with GPA 4.00. All foreign applicants must have to apply to the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) of The Government of Bangladesh for an equivalence certificate through the Bangladeshi Embassy. All certificates/marksheets/other certificates and passport photocopy are to be atwebed by respected country’s Education Board or Ministry of Education and authenticated by the respective country’s Foreign ministry.
